I'm Emil Lombardo, an Argentinian documentary photographer and photojournalist based between London and Paris. I’m a member of Hans Lucas agency and Diversify Photo collective. My practice began self-taught, shaped by years of experimentation and independent learning, before I completed an MA in Photography at the Royal College of Art in 2021.
My work focuses on people and their stories—particularly those pushed to the margins. I explore LGBTQ+ rights, with a particular emphasis on trans lives, and how these intersect with immigration, class, and other aspects of identity. In recent years, I’ve expanded to projects on inequality and poverty, drawing attention to the interconnected nature of liberation struggles.
While the issues I document are complex, my approach is grounded in empathy and respect. Through portraiture and documentary photography, I aim to tell stories that not only inform but also affirm and inspire.
